A Stratos representative was recently interviewed by CRN magazine. John DeRocker, a former president of Nexus, was appointed the position of senior vice president of worldwide channels. John will also be responsible for engaging with new manufacturing partners and net-new customers to get them started with Stratos.
“In the past, most international customers gave purchasing responsibility to their local offices,” he said. “Today, that’s changing. The mother companies want control of standardization and pricing with local delivery.” DeRocker said.

A Nexus representative was interviewed in CRN magazine. The representative was asked about software-defined storage, and said to think of software-defined data centers as a Logitech Harmoney remote which, when used with a home theater system, controls everything with the press of a button.
"In a way, that's how software-defined-everything should be," they said. "One button to do all the automation. Today, no vendor has that technology that works with everything ... We just lack all the controls for an extra management function. Storage is a component, networking is a component, compute is a component. We have control with compute and networking. Storage will be the hardest one."

Vice President of Nexus, Keith Norbie was recently interviewed in CRN magazine. Norbie said he will be looking for the execution engine on the software-defined data center (SDDC) and all the ecosystem progressions around the advancement of this movement. Mr. Norbie also said "I'm looking for short-term perspective on what's executable from the 'tech previews' of previous VMworld and events," he said. "I'm looking for the future, what services and offerings does Stratos need to make? What's relevant? Who are the right people to network with to pull off this year's super-human feats?"
